Song Writing Workshop and Performance

Nick Sherman -Singer Songwriter/folk rock musician from Sioux Lookout will be hosting a songwriting workshop and performance for all community members. Event at Kendasii Gamik.
4-6pm: Songwriting workshop
7-8pm: Performance
“In my presentation I focus on my background growing up in a small community and how music was how I expressed myself and it helped me achieve goals. I tell stories along with my songs as well. My main point is setting goals to achieve your ultimate goal.
My workshops are very focused on expression. Not everyone plays guitar or sings but everyone can write. We go through exercises that guide participants through the process of writing songs and I give them general writing tools.
If there are instruments available I go over basic guitar playing and how to put words to music. Ultimately we try to write a song where everyone participates.”
