Community Hunt Meeting

A Community Hunt Meeting has been scheduled for
Wednesday, August 19, 2020
6:00 p.m.
Community Centre
Please bring your mask to the meeting and if you have a large family, we ask that you send one member to the meeting to gather information and provide suggestions.
Topics:
- Scouting for location (suggestion of Bob Naponse’s camp – 2 hour drive conservatively)
- Food Kits for Families
- Camp for Participants – COVID-19 Precautionary Measures
- Cultural activities; teachings, crafts, songs, prayers, and more.
The group is asking for any trappers to attend and show how to harvest a beaver or mustkrat.
- Storytelling with Elders; learn about Atikameksheng Anishnawbek History and relocations of the community to the current location, old Portage Routes, and more
Due to COVID-19, many different precautionary measures are being looked at and the possibility that it could be cancelled due to an outbreak or the 2nd wave. This will be closely monitored, and participants will be advised.
