Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Community members are invited to participate in the development of policies and guidance on the newly enacted Impact Assessment Act (IAA).  Presentations outlining the key changes made under Bill C-69 will be provided via Zoom with discussion to follow.

WHAT IS BILL C-69?

In August 2019, federal environmental legislation under Bill C-69 came into affect through the enactment of the IAA, changing how major infrastructure projects are reviewed and approved in Canada. The new legislation was put in place to enforce protective measures for the environment, fish and waterways, and enhance Indigenous consultation requirements for all projects that require a federal impact assessment.
